Višegrad And Its Bridge Over The Drina
"The Bridge On The Drina" is a masterpiece of literature. Bosnian Ivo Andrić received the Nobel Prize for Literature for this "novel" in 1961. "The Drina is the river which symbolically represents the border between Bosnia on one side, and Serbia on the other", Aleksandra wrote on "Living in Europe" (before the content was deleted) how history took further toll.

I didn't know anything about Andrić, the Drina or the bridge. (Update: Been there, seen it in July 06.) But when I found the following pictures the bridge looked exactly as Andrić described it.
