Paris Sightseeing: Visit the Tunnel of Death
Via Mig I discovered this blog presenting the results of trucks entering this infamous tunnel. Hilarious! Check http://www.2m40.com/ yourself.

Nice to Meet You, Tour Eiffel
"Voilà Monsieur Leroc. Voilà la famille de Monsieur Leroc. Monsieur Leroc est malad."
Anybody remember these first phrases from the French book? They came to my mind when I met another acquaintance from Grade 7: Madame Eiffel tower. "Bonsoir", I said, "nice meeting you."

It's another one of these must-sees, no doubt about that.

The Eiffel Tower sparkles each hour on the hour for ten minutes, from dusk until 2 am (1 am in winter). It's a bit tacky, but still kind of neat.

Too many people (as everywhere in inner Paris), so I didn't queue up. Apparently there is a ice-skating rink on first floor.

Musée d'Orsay
The Musée d'Orsay is a must-see in Paris. Built into an old trainstation the architect found a nice solution to make room for all kinds of different styles of art - from paintings over sculptures, furniture and stage sets.

There is huge miniature of the old Paris opera cut in half so you can see how everything works. Below the floor you can see the quarter where the opera is located and can walk over the glass.

This one here I declared my friend.

Heat treated ice-cream
Sign heat-treated ice-cream. (novala)

Sometime one wonders - if the heat treated ice-cream comes with a straw for example.

La Défense
La Défense is this huge skyscraper area "behind" the Arc de Triomphe. It's one of the place I liked best. Apart from the only xmas market I saw it was also the only place where I found a supermarket. The view is amazing. You can take the lift up to the top of the Grande Arche, but it's 7,50 €. The view is also great from the bottom of the Arche.

As soon as you leave the area of these high gloss glass mountains the real Paris starts. The apartment blocks look only slightly better than in Sarajevo-Grbavica. The difference is that Sarajevo-Grbavica is improving its appearance.

Ohlala, la plage
Nice is an ok place in winter. It's also ok in summer, but only from 100 m away from the beach where oily bodies take the sardine experience.

I sat down on the pebbles to listen to the sound of the ocean. I so much miss it. (Memo: Buy CD with sound of ocean.)

There is a store in Nice where they sell huge felt pebbles. I want the big one in the back and some of the smaller ones in light colors. NOW!
